Woodland Wellbeing Session for Women

£0.00

Session Date: Sunday 21 April
Session Time: 1pm - 3pm

‘Just let go and slowdown’ is a woodland well-being session for women who want to reconnect with nature, relax amongst the trees of our wonderful woodland site and connect to others.

The monthly woodland well-being sessions at Bowring Park & Golf Course applies the principles of Forest School and the NHS' Five Ways to Wellbeing' (Be Active, Notice, Connect, Keep learning, Give back). We hope that carrying out these sessions on a publicly accessible site will encourage people to utilise these spaces more and explore their local woodland to support their physical and mental health wellbeing.

The sessions will be 2 hours long to allow you to fully absorb yourselves in mindful activities. Activities may depend on the seasons, interests and needs of participants. They may include learning new skills such as fire lighting or simple wood work; sensory exploration, stimulation and enjoyment; environmental arts and crafts amongst other things. All sessions contain elements that support nature connection and self-care and aim to increase confidence in spending time in and with nature. The sessions will include a snack that will be cooked on the fire and hot drinks or juice.

Studies have shown that when Outdoor Wellbeing is carried out it can help in many ways with the most noticeable benefits being:

  1. Boosts our energy

  2. Boosts our creativity

  3. Boosts our immune system, thanks to Vitamin D

  4. Natural sunlight can help reduce pain

  5. Free, all-natural aromatherapy

  6. Decreases anxiety

  7. Improves our focus

  8. Can help improve our sleep
