What does the scheme include?

This is a free scheme for local residents to join. All that you will be asked to do is to bring raw food waste to the park to be mixed in with the compost. Once the compost is ready, all scheme members will be given the opportunity to collect compost to use in their homes

• More information regarding what kind of waste can be put into the compost bins will be provided during information sessions that we will be hosting

• There will be volunteering opportunities to help maintain the compost bins however this isn't a requirement for joining the scheme

Introduction

We're launching a community compost scheme at Bowring Park! In partnership with Compost Works, this scheme is turning raw food waste from Bowring Park and neighbouring residencies into compost, to be used at both the park, and for local homes.
