Date: Saturday 01 November 2025
Time: 10am - 1:30pm
Venue: The Loft at Bowring Park
Join us at Bowring Park for a free family cooking class with a Halloween twist. This October half term, you can discover how to create delicious dishes using pumpkins that might otherwise go to waste after Halloween. Together, families will learn to prepare pumpkin muffins, pumpkin and lentil soup, and pumpkin and sage scones, all while exploring the importance of food preservation and reducing waste.
The event begins with refreshments at 10:00am, followed by the cooking session from 10:30am to 1:30pm. At the end of the class, participants will share the food they have prepared in a communal setting, offering a wonderful opportunity to enjoy great dishes and the company of other families.
All food and equipment will be provided for you. This is a perfect occasion to learn new recipes, embrace sustainable cooking, and celebrate the season together at Bowring Park.
This event is being delivered in partnership with Bay Tree Cookery CIC. Bay Tree is mobile cookery school working with communities & organisations in the Northwest. Teaching health, budgeting, teamwork, wellbeing & international cuisine.
This event is being funded through the Zero Waste Community Fund. Funding was provided to the Friends of Bowring Park through the Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority.
